Ancient techniques and modern technology
Acupuncture and Therapeutic Laser
Acupuncture has been a recognized therapy for thousands of years. With modern technology, we now know why it works. Acupuncture intervenes with the body's neuromodulation pathways via the release of neurotransmitters from the site of precise needle placement. The needles are very small, and most patients minimally respond to the initial placement. Adding electricity has been shown to increase many effects, and specific electricity protocols have been determined to influence the outcomes. Acupuncture can be helpful for conditions including pain, neurologic conditions, osteoarthritis, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer/chemotherapy related illness, tissue healing, fertility, plus many others.
Therapeutic laser is a much more modern approach for treatment of a variety of ailments. It involves applying a specific light wavelength using a defined technique to generate an effect in the tissues. Depending on the dose of light energy delivered, we can expect a decrease in inflammation or a stimulation for healing to take place.
